Chemo works! My tumour has reduced considerably size-wise and texture-wise. It's only about 8mm thick to 19mm wide now, compared to the 26mm it was. The reason why I can't feel it anymore is because it's "crashed" and made of dead cells. We could still see a small black spot on the screen but the doctor said it was probably the scar left behind.
Sounds good!
Hopefully it will get even smaller prior surgery. The surgeon needs to remove the scar tissue + a 10mm border around it to be safe. So, the smaller it gets, the less they'll remove. This should keep me going for the last 2 rounds of chemo.
I also went to see a little old lady who was staying in my room when I was hospitalized. Her name is Marie and she's from Romania. She is the bravest old lady I have ever encountered. During my stay she wasn't allowed to move because she'd had a tumour removed on her spine between her shoulder blades. She also suffered from a previous ovary cancer. And with all that, she is always smiling. I had to see her again. She's giving me so much strength. So I brought her cookies and we talked a bit. She was stroking my face and holding on to my hand. It's so hard not to burst out crying when you see so much courage. She told me the doctors had said the tumour in her back was cancerous, and that she had to go through chemo (for a second time) but that she was ready for it and would never stop hoping for a miracle. God bless her. I'm gonna keep visiting her as much as I can. She's so inspiring...
Such good news Sali :) and what an amazing brave old lady you have befriended.

These are fantastic news, what a boost for your last 2 chemos. So you have now 2/3 of the chemo ordeal behind you, and you can see results for it. I'm so happy for you.
RépondreSupprimerThis old lady sounds awe inspiring. I think it's always very good if you can draw strength from the support and experience of others who went through the same. We are only outsiders who can offer some lame words of support, while a friend like she can actually help you with real advice.
Get a good rest before the next round, love, Silvia
Coucou Sali,
Hey, brilliant news!! :) :) leila x
