Bye bye...

I've had my surgery. I'm really surprised because I wasn't nervous at all. Guess my prayers have been answered! We (my mum and I) arrived at the hospital at 7.20am yesterday morning and about an hour later I was given an injection and sent to the surgery. Once on the table I recognized Dr. D. who was all smiles for once. Maybe he was happy to see me in that stupid hospital gown? Anyway, I asked him if he would place a tunneled catheter on my chest, like Dr. M suggested. He wasn't aware of that but said it was a brilliant idea.

Because I have to do all this chemotherapy, I will be constantly stuck with needles and my veins will end up hurt and my arms bruised. Thanks to a vascular catheter, it'll be less painful. Here's more info about it if you like: vascular access

Anyway, I'm glad it's done now, but if I had known the pain I would endure... goodness... I would have thought twice! The three holes in my stomach are a joke compared to that catheter. And sleeping seemed impossible, but I was so tired I slept anyway.

I'm home now, resting a bit, and enjoying my freshly cut hair. I look awful, but I'm happy I decided to cut right before I went to the hospital. The heat is unbearable! So... bye bye hair, and see you again next year?
