I was so hungry yesterday, and I felt so weak... that I took a nibble from the pasta my friend had prepared for me, 'just in case'. No tomato sauce, just mushrooms and chicken, and a little bit of cream. The nibble went down alright, so I took a small plate and ate it all. Slowly, but I finished my plate.
I was so happy cause I was feeling better! But I was still hungry, so I ate another plate, a bit bigger... and then I had more at breakfast this morning...
What can I say? My stomach didn't agree with this at all, and it's been burning and burning since this afternoon. I shouldn't have eaten so much (even if it didn't seem that much for a normal person). I read that after a chemo, the connection between your stomach and the entrance of the intestines can be paralyzed because of the drugs, and that food is digested really really slowly. Why do I always read those things too late?
First nausea, then weakness, and now that I'm actually feeling strong enough, my stomach is burning so much I won't be able to eat normally for another day. Thanks for all your advice though... The energy drink helped!
I hope you're going to find your balance on how to combat the nausea and keep up your strength. Maybe they have information about diet tips at the hospital?

I think, generally light things like rice, chicken and turkey might be a good choice. It helped me when I had my food poisening and couldn't eat much. And apparently the milk shake is a good option too.
