I did wake up around 6am though to take a pill for my painful throat, and now the pain is gone.
Yesterday at the end of the long day, the doctor gave me a paper with all the remaining tests I have to do before the operation. So here's what's planned:
Monday 9am: PET-CT Scan

That's a scan where I'll be injected with a contrast product in my veins and as cancerous cells absorb more sugars than normal cells, they will immediately see if other organs have been "infected". I'll have to rest for a couple of hours and then go through a tunnel formed scanner laying on my tummy...
Wednesday 8.30am: MRI Scan

That's a scan where they'll inject me with a contrast product again with my breasts in a box. Pretty cool, heh?
At 9.30am I also have an appointment with the anaesthetist. That scares me a bit. It's the final test before surgery... and even though I don't like to think about it, I keep remembering that documentary I've seen where people said that they had stayed awake during the entire surgery, but couldn't move or say a word. Goodness...
Finally, on Friday, I will have my last consultation with Dr. V.. The day before, she and everyone involved in the tests I've done, as well as other professors will decide what will happen to me. Breast stays or breast goes... The only thing for it to stay being that the shape of it post-op would be considered acceptable AND easy to reconstruct.
If the breast goes, they will cut it in a way that makes everything super easy for the plastic surgeon to reconstruct it looking as normal as possible.
My throat hurts again...
That's quite a schedule you have this week Sali - you also have a good understanding of the procedures, which is very good. Not to say you will not be frightened, that is understandable. The dentist will never seem so bad again eh?? ;)
