It's all set!

Sorry for staying away for so long. I had a visit from abroad (Switzerland to be more precise) and the girl stayed with me until Monday. She was the girl who bought me my TW Classics tickets, but I had told her I couldn't make it because of my exhaustion. She was kind enough to hold on to the tickets until the day before she arrived in Brussels, and that made all the difference! On Thursday I felt strong enough to welcome her and spend the day in Rotselaar.

It was definitely worth it, I saw Tom Helsen, Duffy, Keane, Moby and Depeche Mode. Couldn't stay after that for Basement Jaxx. I also spent most of the day lying on the grass, but thankfully it was nice enough with a drop or two of rain. Every act was brilliant. Moby brought tears to my eyes when his band played "Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?", the lyrics were sung by an amazing singer, I wish I knew her name. Keane was equally amazing and surprised everyone. People don't realize how much they rock live. Duffy looked like a barbie doll in her mini skirt, but her voice is frighteningly good... and scary.

But the best act of the day had to be Depeche Mode. It was my first time seeing them live, and even though it was 11pm and I couldn't stand up anymore, they transported me into another world and there I was, dancing on "I Feel You" and their latest single "Wrong" (best song of the year in my opinion). They did 2 encores, ending the whole set with "Personal Jesus"... It was absolutely mind blowing.

Of course, once everything was over, we had to walk back 1500m to the buses, then wait for the train and get a taxi home. All in all it took us just over an hour I think, which isn't that bad. But I was completely knackered. I thought I was gonna faint in the train... Anyway, more news about the big C now.

On Monday I was asked to see a doctor at yet another hospital. Dr. M. together with an another doctor organizes the collecting and freezing of eggs. She made her report and sent it to Dr. D, whom I saw just a couple of hours ago. His opinion is to operate me as soon as possible. He doesn't want to be too close to the 2nd of July, when, to my surprise, I will start my first chemo session!

I knew I had to see Dr. Ig that day, but didn't know we would start the thing... I'm a bit scared now. My blood pressure has gone up already. Everything went pretty smoothly until now, but, it's time for the real thing I guess.

I'm gutted that I won't be able to go to Rock Werchter. I was secretly hoping to start after my 2nd of July appointment, which would have been perfect. And bye bye Couleur Cafe too. *sob*

So... this Friday I will go through surgery to remove a third of my ovaries on each side. Hopefully, I am doing the right thing.
